Are You Limiting Your Choices in Love?

The 18-34-year-olds plan to spend the most (as they seem to do every year) at an average of $162.
The 35-49-year-olds plan to spend $69.
The 50+ group plans to spend an average of $52.

After looking at the average cost, I realized why I call it a pity-fall.  Do the 50+ group know something that we don’t?  Why are they spending 2/3 less than the 18-34yr olds?  Maybe they realize that the St. Valentine’s bling is over rated.

For the most part I enjoy Valentines Day.  It’s a great holiday to show your affection to someone that you’re in a relationship with.  In the past, I’ve done the 5 star treatment.  Vic33 and I went out for a great steak dinner, dancing and more.  I sent her to a prestigious Dallas spa.  She had a massage, facial, waxing, manicure, pedicure and much more.  Another year, KrazyJ and I had a intimate dinner and went out dancing til the wee hours in the morning.  With both of them, I had a relationship that started months before Valentine’s Day.

I’ve known women who purposely find a boyfriend in January so they have a date for Valentine’s Day.  They break up 2 weeks later, after he’s suited their mission for the month.  It’s a common concept.  Memberships at the online dating sites increase during January and February because of it.  How long do you have to date before you’re expected to splurge on Valentine’s Day?
